Peer Health Educator (PHE)
Job Description
Overview
Knowing that health impacts academic achievement, the mission of the Health Promotion Program at Queen’s University is to facilitate the adoption and maintenance of health enhancing behaviours among students.
Peer Health Educators contribute to this mission by:
-
Providing accurate & current health information to students using a variety of delivery strategies including:
-
Interactive displays
-
Social media (i.e., facebook, twitter, blog, & monthly e-newsletter)
-
Workshop presentations
-
Assisting in the design and development of health promotion materials.
-
Disseminating information to students about campus health resources.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
-
Attend and actively participate in 2 group training sessions (Sept. & Jan.), bi-weekly group meetings, and weekly team meetings.

RESIDENCE TEAM OUTREACH:

TOPIC TEAM OUTREACH:
-
In small groups (i.e., 4-6 people) plan, design, and deliver relevant outreach for your designated topic area.

CAMPUS OUTREACH:
-
Discuss problem/concerns with the Peer Health Coordinator as they arise.
